Doing Our Part to Recycle and Reuse
Here at JP Carroll Roofing our focus has been providing our community with quality roofing jobs for the last 35 years. As a roofing contractor we produce quite a bit of waste every year. 10,000 tons to be exact. Jim Carroll has always been committed to reducing that amount of waste in any way he can. For the last 25 years JP Carroll Roofing has been separating all shingle waste from other building material tear off that comes along with a roofing project. Once separated, the shingle waste is sent to a grinding facility where the shingles are put into a large grinder where they are ground into a very fine asphalt dust. This material is then used for multiple different things including road asphalt mix, and ground cover. These are ways to keep our shingles out of our already overcrowded landfills and back into the world in a sustainable application. Our dedication to recycling and sustainability goes beyond just shingle disposal. All of our metal products are recycled and reused via scrap metal yards across Connecticut.
